Both of those lizards make great pets, but I honestly think the leopard geckos are better. If you want something more larger, I would say get the chameleon. There are also leopard geckos called giant leopard geckos. They are larger than the normal ones. Leopard gecko are nice and not aggressive lizards. They are really chill and just hang out. Chameleons are chill too and hang out, but they can get aggressive and bite. So it's your choice on whatever you want to get, but I recommend a leopard gecko.

Depends on what kind you want and how it fits your lifestyle. As far as I know Leopard Geckos Are Nocturnal and don't "love" to be handled. They are fine with it though as long as you do it often… My Gecko always gets weirded out when I haven't held her for a few days. And if you have younger siblings that are generally not gentle the tail may fall off causing it to possibly get infected ( mine hasn't yet )I like leos the most even though chameleons are cool too.
Whatever you choose

probably a leopard gecko its cheaper and its probably going to run you at least 100 or 120 for all of his supplies and the price of him it all depends where you go to do all of that stuff also a chameleon is going to run u about 200 250 for all the leaves the mister or the drippier thing and him its self is like 60 65 dollars and that special kind of cage you have to get for it and that is like 100 so the and the substrate and leopard gecko substrate u can use paper towel or rep-ti carpet and the leopard gecko hides is not all that much and that all but i think a leopard gecko would be the best

I don't know why you think care isn't a factor. A reptile has to suit your needs. Leopard geckos are so much more forgiving of beginner mistakes, but chameleons can present a fun challenge for an experienced owner. I don't know which one you are, so I can't recommend one to you.

I would go with a House Gecko. They are REALLY cheap and personally I like them better than all the others kinds.

Leopard Geckos are cheaper, hardier (its harder to kill them, lol) and a lot easier to care for. with any animal your most expensive expense will be the initial cost (cage, cage accessories and the actual animal). Chameleons are really cool animals, but not for the beginner, unless you do your research well and have a Herpetologists number handy just in case. If you want a really neat lizard and are up to a more challenging one, get a Chameleon! Make sure that you do your research well though! in the classifieds section, and the top of the web page) is a good website to find an animal, they don't over price either, they are all responsible breeders and will ship to your door.
Good luck and enjoy your new pet, which ever you choose!

If it is your first reptile, a leopard gecko is good. They are also hardier and have a longer life span compared to chameleons.

It depends on what you want from your lizard. The leo can live it's entire life in a 10-20 gallon aquarium, gets 7-9" long, and is nocturnal. They do become quite tame, though, and tolerate handling well, and will sit on your arm for up to an hour if you want them to. They eat the usual crickets, mealworms, occasional pinkies. They do come in a variety of morph, some that are quite nice looking, but usually cost more than a normal leo.
Chameleons, on the other hand, are much more delicate. I would advise against keeping any species in a fish tank, but the screen Reptariums are nice and inexpensive, and have better circulation. The reptariums also work for arboreal species like chameleons, whereas the glass tank does not. Different species also have different humidity requirements. There are many species of chameleons out there; some are only 3", while others are over a foot long full grown. Chameleons should not be held unless absolutely necessary, as they are very delicate and it stresses them out. They are great display animals, though. They eat crickets, mealworms, fruit flies, etc.
Both leos and chameleons will need UVB lighting and heating, altho with a leo you could use an under tank heater for heating.
Overall, I would get a gecko if you want to hold your lizard, and they are on the whole, just friendlier than chams, although the chams do have the brilliant aesthetic.
You can check out the forums for both lizards and also find them for sale on kingsnake.com , if you haven't been there yet
